What Does It Mean To Be A CAM Donor?
Giving your hard-earned money to a nonprofit organization is admirable. Nonprofits work off very little – few staff, few volunteers, and a very limited budget. Having loyal donors believe in your mission enough to donate financially is a huge blessing. Often times, nonprofits rely heavily on individual donors financial contributions to help with the day-to-day operations. Being a donor is vital to the nonprofit’s success!
Being a CAM donor means investing in someone’s life for the better. Those who come to CAM, more often than not, are in some sort of crisis situation, whether that be a house fire where they lost all of their belongings, or being laid off from a job or being injured on the job while having a family to support, or living paycheck to paycheck but you’re unable to pay a utility bill due to unforeseen occurrences, etc. The list can go on and on. Anyone of us can be in a situation where we need some help. We’ve found that our residential clients often times just need help once, just to get back on their feet, and then they prosper. Many times we’ve seen those same clients come back to CAM to give back! Some will financially donate to CAM’s cause, others will donate items. It’s truly a beautiful thing to witness when that happens.
You may be wondering – where does my money go when I donate to CAM. It’s a valid question! Those who financially contribute to CAM’s cause can rest assured that their money goes directly towards client services. This means resources to help those in need. Resources such as:
- Food in the form of groceries for residential clients or sack lunches for those experiencing homelessness
- Financial assistance for utilities such as an electric bill or water bill
- Financial assistance for IDs or birth certificates
- Financial assistance for someone’s vital medical prescriptions
- Clothing for men, women and children for every season – warm months and cold months

To be a place that provides us with a means to share God’s love by being proximate with those who need it. To walk in their shoes, to hold their hand, to experience their need. We can only make a difference by knowing the people who need help.
CAM thrives on transparency. We’re a small, but mighty, nonprofit who relies heavily on donors and supporters such as yourself. What do we rely on you for – great question! Not only do we rely on your financial contributions, but we rely on your advocacy of our mission. You’re our biggest cheerleaders! Having you speak of CAM while you’re out in public is huge – word-of-mouth awareness is the best kind because it shows you’re an investor in something bigger than what goes on every day. And when people see your passion for a place like CAM who’s changing lives for the better, it will entice them to want to learn more. It’s a ripple effect.
Another way we thrive on transparency is via our Annual Report – a document we develop every year showcasing our work for the year prior and illustrating statistics when it comes to the number of people we’ve helped, and how we did that via our revenue streams. We’ve broken down each of CAM’s revenue streams listing a percentage of monies we receive from each. CAM has diversified revenue streams from which we rely on each tremendously. “Individual Bequests” means YOU, the donor! And as you can see, you all make up half of our annual revenue! So, to say you all play a key role in our daily operations is an understatement. CAM relies heavily on your financial support to keep our organization running.
