Our tribe is called The Bridge. Our mission is this: The Bridge exists to meet the spiritual and practical needs of our homeless and hurting through demonstrating the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. The way that we put this into action is by collecting monthly donations (food, clothes, water, hygiene items, money) and then on the 3rd Friday of each month, we deliver these items to our homeless brothers and sisters at Christian Assistance Ministry. There at CAM, we have a food line where our friends can wash their hands, get a warm meal and some water (even Starbucks coffee!), and take some snacks with them on the road. They also have the opportunity to go through our clothes and pick out whatever it is that they may need (men’s clothing, clean underwear, pants, and shoes are a hit!) More recently, we also have a couple of barbers who join us each time for free haircuts, and we have just started helping with CAM’s mobile shower program. From there, we have two companies that we partner with to help give our friends a hand up out of their current situation. These companies are WellCare (low cost health insurance) and Christian Hope Resource Center (employment opportunities and sustainable housing).
