CAM Council of Churches

CAM’s CEO, Dawn White-Fosdick, changed the name of this co-op from Membership Council/Member Churches to CAM’s Council of Churches. She wanted to change the name so anyone reading would understand what exactly this group is. ‘Membership Council’ is more of a code word that only those in the co-op would understand. This new name is more generalized to what this group is. This way in community, with our board members, churches, or when people are invited to CAM they understand that CAM has a Council of Churches that help to guide us. It’s another way to communicate to new and current churches in a super intentional way. We have many churches that support us, but the below list are those who have made a commitment to be part of our Council of Churches and commit to this ministry. If your church would be interested in making a commitment to CAM, please contact Mary Henderson at mhenderson@cam-a.org.

Pastor Adam Knight Shares the Importance of Being Part of CAM

Top 8 Ways Churches Can Support CAM

#8: Pray. Your prayers are vital to our mission and bless CAM daily. We even have a prayer group that prays specifically for clients.

#7: Volunteer. Encourage individuals to consider a weekly, regular volunteer job at CAM. If a weekly volunteer job won’t work, coordinate a volunteer work day with CAM during the holidays or one of our 3rd Saturday work days. More information about volunteering may be found here.

#6: Pledge or Donate Financially. Consistent contributions from the body of Christ are our lifeblood. Churches can pledge an annual amount, donate monthly, quarterly, yearly or even tithe a specific amount based on their weekly offerings. We also encourage member churches to hold a special offering once a year. Every dollar matters for those we serve.

#5: Broaden CAM’s Reach. Recruit CAM Champions in your congregation. Invite them for a tour and ask if they will share CAM needs with their small groups, mom’s groups, Sunday School classes and through social media (“Like” us on Facebook and share CAM needs). Almost everyone can participate this way!

#4: Share CAM. We’ll make sharing easy for you by providing testimonials and videos to use in your newsletters, bulletins and church gatherings. Check out our latest newsletters here.

#3: Host a Drive for Specific Items at Your Church. Decide on 1 to 2 types of drives you’ll have for the year (hygiene, children’s clothing, men’s jeans, or shoes), set your dates and let us know. We’ll support you with promotional materials. More information about drives and to download flyers can be found here.

#2: Talk To Your Membership Council Rep. Does your rep need help? Have suggestions? Need advice? Does your church have the right person as the membership representative? Your rep will keep you up-to-date on our activities and our needs.

The #1 way to help CAM:

#1: Promote CAM Once a Year (or more). Invite us to share CAM with your church in a meaningful way for 3-5 minutes. These Mission Moments are available for any large group in your church (EX: Sunday or Wednesday services, women’s ministries, Sunday school). Set an appointment today with the President/CEO, Dawn White-Fosdick . If your church is interested in volunteering please contact our Volunteer and Operations Director, Mary Henderson.
